It has always struck me that the benighted souls who diss evolution on the grounds that something as complex as the eye could never have arisen by chance probably aren't cat lovers (or goat or octopus lovers, for that matter). Your great photo emphasizes the fact that the pupil of the cat's eye is very different from our own, yet presumably works just as well at controlling the ingress of light.
