Stereophile: Shure, We Like Headphones

Shure's Christian Potts entertained Jon Iverson, Stephen Mejias, and me with his description of the company's high-end E4 ($299) ear buds, which utilize a two transducer system, but he really tantalized us with preliminary information about the E500 ($499), a three transducer in-ear monitor. I shamelessly begged for a demo pair, but Potts told me that John Atkinson had scheduled a session for tomorrow, so I probably won't get no satisfaction—but I'm (ahem) shure we'll enjoying reading about his adventures with them.

You might look at the E3's, Mr. N. They're a little cheaper and pretty darned good.

Well, it's Saturday, Wes, and I checked out the new E500s. Very smooth, very nice-sounding, when I auditioned them hooked up to an iPod Nano, and they look like a thousand bucks! But if you want to do the Stereophile review, you' have to wait until May because the E500 won't be in production 'til then.

I believe you are picturing the Shure E4Cs in your hand (look identical to mine)? If so then according to Shure's own site, this is only a single driver headphone. Their E5C is a two-driver headphone with the same list price $499 as their e500.

I need your help! Has anybody been in Russia? What’s your opinion? I’m going to go there in spring but still I need more information. All I’m familiar with is Moscow… Can you suggest me something? What to visit? Or probably, you can advise some really interesting places especially which are situated far away from big cities? Any ideas about travel agencies that hone in on some outstanding or off the wall tourist activities? I visited such web sites as (gotorussia.com, russia-travel.com, dovisit.com, russia.com, etc.), they really offer such tours but I’m not sure they are reliable enough… I really appreciate your help and advices.
